Clinics Were a Huge Success!

Last Saturday was a lot of fun for those participating in the three clinics that concluded on March 5.  Twenty-three softball girls (ages 5 to 12) were "squashing the bug" in one way or another in the Fundamentals Clinic.  Following the red-eye clinic, forty-one girls were swinging away at the Softball Hitting Clinic that wrapped up a noon.

The day concluded with thirty-six guys participating in the Baseball Skills Clinic with the grand finale - a wiffle ball game that brought smiles to the parents and coaches observing the event.  By 4:30, players were drifting out of the gym with their new t-shirts.  Be sure to catch the Neighbor's section of the Erie Times News - Bob Healy was at the clinic taking photos.

Northwestern Little League expresses appreciation to Coach Bricker, his staff and the Lady Cats players for conducting the softball clinics.  Thanks also to Coach Light, his staff and the Wildcat baseball team for instructing the baseball clinic.  Our young adult players were excellent role models for Northwestern Little League youth.

Next step - season start - good luck to all Northwestern Teams out there!  Let's get rid of this snow and play ball.

Tickets Still Available for Reverse Raffle

Tickets are still available for the Northwestern Little League Annual Reverse Raffle held this Saturday, March 12, 2005 at St. John's Center in Girard.  This event is one of the major fund raisers to support Little League.  Proceeds are used for equipment purchases and field maintenance for youth softball and baseball teams.

The Reverse Raffle is designed as a night out for couples.  Doors will open at 5:30 and tickets are available for a $50 donation to the League.  This ticket includes dinner for two, refreshments, door prizes, a chance to win the $1,300 grand prize, music and dancing until midnight.  Northwestern Little League parents or coaches who are interested in helping at this event, or those who have questions, should contact Sue Lorance.
